*Black mark removal*

Asked by Jo Evans from Peterborough:	We have some very old quarry tiles (100's of years old) in our fire places. I have tried cleaning them with an acid based cleaner, this just seems to make the black marks more prominent.

gpslancaster says:	Best to try a Strong Alkaline cleaner such as Tile Doctor Pro-clean http://www.tiledoctor.co.uk/TileGroutCleaner.html test out a small area first and give it a good scrub with a brush and some warm water mixed with the Pro-clean at a 50/50 mix.
