Scratched tiles
Asked by Alice from Pemberton:
Hi, we recently had a new bathroom installed and opted for a light colour travertine tile. The tiler suggested using a pale grey grout as he had this in his own bathroom. However something went wrong as 2 months later it was black and looked awful. We asked him to regrout it with an ivory colour instead, but in the process he has scratched the edges of all the tiles. The scratches are white in appearance and can be felt. Is there any way of removing them?
TileProf says:
Hi Alice, He must have scracthed them whilst removing the old grout, then only answer or cure for this is to have thenpolished down with grinding pads its a bit messy but can take 4mm of the Tile, if the scratch is no deeper than than this then you have your answer, however to regrind even for a small area is expensive, but if you want a Tile Doctor to do it for you, then click on the link below and we can send you one out for a free home survey.
